Shakespeare Tribes was first performed at the Victoria & Albert Museum as part of their Shakespeare festival in June 2014. It was a collaborative project that responded to a brief written by the Prague Quadrennial. The work imagined Shakespeare as a creator of social categories or 'tribes'. It looked at how different characters in his works exemplify certain stereotypes and through makeup and movement set about contesting them.
Collaborators: Arielle Francis, Hannah Taylor, Harriet J. G. Jennings, Jingwen Tian, Krishna Istha, Laura Fischer, Lori Gargani, Millie Davies, Min Ryung Lee, Raphael M. V. Schulenburg
